Attitudes of women towards banks and banking services

WHAT WE DISCOVERED

  • 69% of women take primary responsibility of household finances
  • Just 10% of women leave the task for their partner to control
  • Only 40% of women believe banks understand the needs of females
  • 47% of women agree that at times, their main bank does not take them seriously
  • Mobile banking is increasingly important for women, with only 33% claiming not to use mobile services
  • 31% of women went as far as rating the major banks’ mobile services as ‘excellent’
  • Our research suggests the finance industry is underestimating the female opportunity

*Survey was conducted using the Pureprofile consumer research panel between 31 October and 1 November 2013 with 409 homeowner women between 25 and 50 years of age, across all states/territories. Results are supported by active social listening using SDL SM2.
